The official biography says that Alexey Poroshenko was born in 1936 in Romania. He studied well, in the Soviet years he worked as an engineer in the city of Bolgrad, Odessa region. Since 1974, he moved to the Bendery Research and Experimental Repair Plant in Moldova. From 1977 to 1983 he was its director.

After that, in official sources, a failure usually occurs for several years. And the mention of the next career step of Alexei Poroshenko is already a move to Kyiv and the beginning of entrepreneurial activity with his son Peter.

But, according to information in the media, in 1986 Alexey Poroshenko was tried for theft of state property. You can even find documents on the net that confirm this.

"On July 20, 1986, Poroshenko Aleksey Ivanovich, by the verdict of the Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court of the Moldavian SSR, was sentenced to five years in prison to be served in a correctional labor colony of general regime with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold leadership positions for a period of five years", the documents say.

If translated from legal language into normal language, it turns out that Poroshenko's father took advantage of his position as director of a plant in Bendery and set up a small "business" for himself. But he hurried a little, because it was only the beginning of perestroika and the time for "rampant democracy" came a little later. What perfectly took advantage of his son Peter.

In 2014, journalists from the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper found employees of a plant in Bendery who worked under Poroshenko Sr.
