Zelensky's legislative maneuvers: he withdrew one bill, introduced another

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky today, January 27, made several rather controversial legislative initiatives.

So, at first it became known that Zelensky recalled from the Verkhovna Rada its draft law "On the restoration of public confidence in the constitutional legal proceedings", which implied the actual dissolution of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

After the Constitutional Court made a decision regarding the restriction of access to the electronic declarations of the servants of Themis, an open hunt began for him. And the target was, in fact, the head of the CCU Alexander Tupitsky.

Then, as reported press office The OP, signed a decree, which put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine “On the Draft Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the improvement of responsibility for declaring false information and failure to submit a declaration by the subject of declaration of a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government”.

According to the decision, the National Security and Defense Council approved this bill and recommended that the head of state submit it for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada as urgent.

According to the document, it is proposed to amend Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code (declaring false information), providing that the deliberate introduction of false information in the declaration, which differs from the reliable in the amount of 500 to 2000 living wages for able-bodied persons, is punishable by a fine of 3000 to 4000 non-taxable minimum incomes, community service for a period of 150 to 240 hours, or restraint of liberty for a period of up to two years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or conduct certain activities for up to three years.
