A number of Ukrainian territories will remain without heat, and the temperature in apartments will be lowered by 4 degrees: features of the heating season 2022-2023

The heating season in most regions of Ukraine, despite the war and the fact that it will be the most difficult in the history of the country, is planned to start on time. We tell you what features it will have this year and how the state will help certain categories of citizens for easier passage of cold weather.

On words the prime minister Denis Shmygal, now on average in all regions Ukraine is 88% ready for the heating season, but this is the “average temperature in the hospital”: some regions are completely ready, and some will remain without heat at all. At the same time, the key task for the Ministry of Energy now is to reach 100% readiness, but whether this will be possible is still an open question, given the war factor.

When will the heating be turned on?

According to the tradition that has developed in recent years, in Ukraine the beginning and end of the heating season is not tied to specific dates and depends on the temperature outside. So, heat is turned on when the average daily temperature is no more than +8 degrees, and turned off when it exceeds this figure.

What will be the temperature?

This year, according to the head of Naftogaz Yuri Vitrenko, the temperature in the houses will be below the norm by 4 degrees and will be 17-18 degrees, but not less than +16. It was decided to lower the temperature norm in connection with the threat of a shortage of gas this winter and forecasts of the coldest winter in the last decade, when gas consumption for heat production will increase significantly.

Recall that for the successful passage of the heating season, Ukraine in June requested from the United States gas supplies under Lend-LeaseHowever, no positive response has yet been received.

Who will have the hardest time?

The temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine will find themselves in the most difficult situation - Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as front-line regions. The infrastructure there was badly damaged, which is currently not possible to repair.

On words Chairman of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Sergei Gaidai, it is impossible to spend the heating season in the cities of the Luhansk region, where active hostilities took place. That is, neither RubizhneOr LisichanskOr Severodonetsk the heating period will not survive, so most residents of these cities will have to move.

That is, closer to winter, we can expect a new wave of internally displaced persons who will flee from the cold.

As for the front-line territories, there will definitely not be heating in Kramatorsk. The fact that it will not be possible to avoid the evacuation for the winter of part of the inhabitants Raisins, said the deputy head of the city Vladimir Matsokin, since not everywhere it will be possible to arrange the supply of electricity, gas and water in the required time frame.

And in Akhtyrka и Chernihiv, despite the fact that regional thermal power plants are seriously damaged by Russian shelling, they promise to restore heat supply. Mayor of Chernihiv Vladislav Atroshenko even saidthat the heating season in the city will start on time this year. Wherein gas limits reduced by 10% this year, compared to the previous year, and if this winter is as cold as predicted, the issue of obtaining enough gas for heating will have to be addressed.

It should be noted that the success and stability of the passage of winter also depends on which objects on the territory of Ukraine the Russian Federation hits. Yes, at the beginning of September the Russians attacked the largest Ukrainian thermal power plant, de-energizing several regions, and there is a risk of repetition of such attacks.

In case of such situations, a round-the-clock headquarters is already operating in the country to eliminate the consequences of military destruction of the energy and utility infrastructure.

Catastrophe feared in Nikolaev

Deputy Mayor of Nikolaev Vitaly Lukov считаетthat this winter a catastrophe could happen in the city, and called on the residents of Nikolaev to find alternative housing outside the city.

“At least, every resident of Nikolaev should have a second option of residence. We have to be honest and warn people because may not be warm. Without heat in the cold season, you can live in a cold apartment for a week, and then a person simply cannot physically do this. It may happen that there will be no electricity. It may happen that there will be no water. Every resident of Nikolaev should know where he can spend the winter. Everyone should have an option: with acquaintances, friends, or know the evacuation routes.the official warned.

At the same time, he believes that there is no point in stocking up on electric heaters, because this can lead to network overload and an electrical system failure if everyone turns on such heaters.

The government will help with the purchase of firewood

According to Shmyhal, the government has already allocated UAH 562,5 million to the regions. subventions for the purchase of firewood, which will make it possible to purchase about 400 thousand cubic meters of wood and distribute it to people living in the front-line territories.

Firewood before the heating season will be available to residents of Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Dnepropetrovsk and Chernihiv regions.

Regional administrations are also compensated for the cost of timber delivery.

Recall that in Ukraine until the end of martial law introduced a moratorium on tariff increases for distribution services of natural gas, thermal energy (its production and transportation), as well as services for the supply of thermal energy and hot water.

We have also published Everything you need to know to apply for a grant, and told that in Ukraine from next year the price of electricity may rise sharply и what reserves will definitely not be superfluous for Ukrainians.
