TV presenter and volunteer Sergey Pritula announced a “mega-collection” for equipment for the Ukrainian army, however, Ukrainians had very serious questions about its cost.

This time, they decided to raise 200 million hryvnias for the purchase of 50 British Spartan armored personnel carriers. Prytula said that all the equipment is available, so it will be able to arrive in Ukraine very quickly. According to him, these armored personnel carriers are needed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since such equipment will be able to pass where the wheeled one cannot pass.

And at the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security notedthat the main advantage of the Spartan is that it is a small and light tracked vehicle, which, thanks to its inconspicuous and low silhouette, is excellent for reconnaissance and infantry support.

The UK handed over 35 of these armored personnel carriers to Ukraine back in the spring.

Is the real cost of an armored personnel carrier much lower?

The cost of 1 such armored personnel carrier, according to the fee, is 4 million hryvnia, or about 109 thousand dollars at the rate of the NBU.

However, a volunteer Nazar Smyk, which is engaged in the transportation of cars from the UK for the needs of the Armed Forces, сообщилthat one such armored personnel carrier with service can be purchased for up to 33 thousand dollars, and with delivery to Ukraine it will cost 37 thousand.

Recall that the Serhiy Prytula Foundation is a charitable organization founded in 2020. Now it specializes in raising money to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and people affected by the war.
