No to drugs: drug syndicate was liquidated in Ukraine and drugs worth 45 million were seized

In Ukraine, a whole drug syndicate was liquidated, which operated in at least 10 regions and produced drugs worth many millions of hryvnias. About it сообщили in the press service of the Department of Strategic Investigations.

A special detention operation was carried out on December 19, involving more than 200 police officers, prosecutors, ГБР. Documentation of a group of people involved in the manufacture and sale of drugs began a few months ago в Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office. As a result of these actions, law enforcement officers were able to establish the places of production of drugs, as well as tracked the network and distribution channels.

According to the results of the investigation, it was established that the drug business was organized by 4 residents from different regions. The organizational system was built in such a way that syndicate members from different regions had almost no contact with each other. Such a structure was created so that when the so-called "laborers" were detained, they would not have information that could be useful to the police.

As it turned out, the drug laboratory was located in the basement of a private house on the outskirts of one of the villages in the Uzhhorod region. Its power allowed on an industrial scale produce up to 25 kg of "goods" weekly and receive up to 40 million UAH. arrived.

They sold narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in regional centers and the largest regional centers of Ukraine. To sell their products, accept and pay for orders, the attackers used a closed channel in the messenger, where they offered a wide range of prohibited drugs and substances.

They also had several storage points for precursors (substances that participate in the reaction to form the desired substance) and finished products, which were delivered to the laboratory and dealers through the mail. In addition, the police found out that five people were involved in the purchase of precursors - residents of Zhytomyr and Kyiv. In the future, the dealers sold the "goods" in large quantities to dealers, and those already in parts using the so-called "bookmark" system.

For the proper control, functioning and security of the activities of the criminal organization, there was a clear hierarchy and distribution of roles: control over the functioning of the laboratory, its security, "chemists", "financiers", maintenance of the online store, delivery of products to storage sites, "couriers", "mortgagers " etc. Total documented criminal activity 20 group members.

Based on the results of 53 simultaneous authorized searches, police officers seized more than 30 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as 2,5 tons of precursors.

According to preliminary data, the value of the seized drugs is 45 million hryvnia. In addition, seized weapons, draft records with data on the movement of drugs, dealers, clients, as well as 14 cars.

Members of the criminal organization were detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, they were informed of the suspicion. Depending on the participation and role in criminal activity, the actions of the suspects are classified under several articles of the Criminal Code:

• Art. 255 - creation, management of a criminal community or a criminal organization, as well as participation in it;
• Art. 307 - illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues;
• Art. 311 - illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or transfer of precursors;
• Art. 317 - organization or maintenance of places for the illegal use, production or manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues.

Additionally, some members of the criminal organization are abroad, therefore, materials are being prepared for a wanted list, several of their accomplices are already in jail. Currently, the issue of electing suspected measures and seizing the seized property is being resolved.
