NAPC can “forgive” Ukrainian corrupt officials if they go to fight for their Motherland
To date, there are about 40 people on the list of corrupt officials.
Those who fight for Ukraine may be excluded from the register of corrupt officials. The relevant Order was issued by the NACP and approved by the Ministry of Justice. About which categories of persons fall under this Order, рассказал Head of the Department for Prevention and Detection of Corruption of the NACP Sergey Derkach.
In particular, those who defend Ukraine as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Territorial Defense, the State Emergency Service or other bodies can apply for exclusion from the register of corrupt officials. It is reported that as of today, there are about 40 people on the list of corrupt officials, of which about 000 are persons who have committed minor administrative offenses related to corruption. For example, the declaration was not submitted on time.
In order to ensure a good reputation for our defenders, who daily risk their lives, it was decided that the employees who, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 24.02.2022, 64 No. 2022/XNUMX “On the imposition of martial law in Ukraine”, were mobilized, namely : military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, employees of other departments of the Ministry of Defense, persons from the National Guard, the State Emergency Service, the National Police or other services that really protect the population and the country, may be excluded from the register under the appropriate procedure, says Serhiy Derkach, head of the Department for Prevention and Detection of Corruption of the NACP.
“According to the procedure that was proposed, a person who is included in the register of corrupt officials, but is now defending the country, must submit an application and a document confirming that he was mobilized and participates in the defense of Ukraine. After that, we send a corresponding request to the Armed Forces of Ukraine or another body that mobilized this person with the requirement to provide information about the location of this person, his military duties and type of activity. After that, this body confirms the fact that this person really participated in the defense of the country.- said Derkach.
He noted that regarding whether those persons who are not currently participating in hostilities, but are mobilized, have the right to apply for exclusion from the list of corrupt officials,The fact is that in a war it is difficult to predict what will happen tomorrow: « those military personnel who are mobilized today can go to the front lines tomorrow, risking their lives and health, so we cannot tarnish their reputation, even if they have committed some minor offense before. Any person mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine first undergoes preliminary training in one of the regions of Ukraine. Perhaps now she provides rear positions or is studying, and over time she will be sent to the front line and will take a direct part in the hostilities. Such persons also have the right to be excluded from the register, since they ensure the country's defense capability. says the representative of the NAPC.
Concerning review speed, then this procedure provides that after the receipt of the application, the NACP, for its part, sends a corresponding request to the Supreme Court of Ukraine or another body within five days, after which the relevant body must provide us with a response within ten days. that a particular person serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine or performs other activities aimed at protecting the state.
Derkach said that the structure of the NAPC has undergone significant changes, as we are forced to join the united front and work for the victory of Ukraine. "Today, the work of the NAPC is aimed at accelerating and strengthening the victory of Ukraine. To do this, we are now engaged in analytical work, the work of our divisions was restructured to search for individuals in Russia who need to be included in the sanctions lists. Since there are a small number of people under sanctions today, and we plan to increase the list of sanctioned persons to at least 6000. We believe that if such a number of people are under sanctions, then this will accelerate Russia's decision to cease hostilities,” leader assures.
He also says that a special NACP portal has been launched, where you can view lists of sanctioned persons and candidates for inclusion in the sanctions list, another portal has been created for whistleblowers reporting the assets of sanctioned persons, or those against whom criminal proceedings have been initiated in Ukraine .
