300 Russian reservists to be called up for war in Ukraine - Shoigu

Today the President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin announced the start of partial mobilization in Russia to replenish the Russian troops fighting on the territory of Ukraine. Subsequently, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu clarified mobilization details.

Key points from Shoigu's speech:

  • Russia is at war not so much with Ukraine and the Ukrainian army as with the collective West and NATO, because the weapons that Ukraine had today are actually over. The entire NATO satellite constellation is also working against the Russian Federation for reconnaissance of the locations of the Russian military: more than 70 military and more than 200 civilian satellites.
  • "Our soldiers" Shoigu called the military from the "LDNR".
  • Increasingly, the Russian Federation is observing strikes with the help of Western weapons on the civilian population. As an example, he cited a recent civilian deaths In Donesk.
  • Shoigu said that the Ukrainian government is completely under the control of Western instructors and curators, and the Western command of about 150 people sits in Kyiv and directs all operations.
  • The tasks assigned to the Russian forces in Ukraine are sometimes very difficult to fulfill.
  • Shoigu emphasized that the call will be made from the reserveand not from those who had nothing to do with military service. They will call for those who have served and have a military registration specialty, which is needed today in the armed forces, as well as those who have combat experience. Russia has such military men now - nearly 25 million people, and the current partial mobilization will cover just over 1% of the total mobilization resource: 300 thousand reservists will be called up.
  • Now we are not talking about the call of students studying in universities. The same applies to those who serve on conscription.
  • Mobilization will take place to consolidate in the occupied Ukrainian territories and to control them.
  • Shoigu said that during the "operation" there may be deviations, but "the main task is carried out". Recall that, according to current words Putin's “the main goals are the “liberation” of the entire territory of Donbass”. And we are no longer talking about the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
  • According to Shoigu, at the initial stage there were 201-202 thousand soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during this time the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly lost more than 100 thousand: 61207 military men were killed and 49368 were wounded, but after that another 300 thousand were mobilized. And mercenaries in Ukraine now, according to Shoigu, more than 1000.
  • Shoigu also said that during the war 5937 Russian servicemen were killed in Ukraine. More than 90% of the wounded Russian soldiers returned to duty.

For comparison: the Ukrainian side declaresthat the troops of the Russian Federation on September 21.09 lost personnel about 55110 people... Note that statements about one's own military losses and about the enemy's losses in war conditions are elements of an information-psychological operationaimed at raising the morale of their own military and lowering it among the military of the other side. Therefore, with a high probability, none of the parties is currently presenting real data.

Today's statements by Putin and Shoigu indicate that Russia may be preparing for a fairly lengthy war in Ukraine. And the development of the situation, most likely, will directly depend on what kind of military assistance the West continues to provide to Ukraine and how far it will be involved in what is happening.

We previously published main points from Putin's speech, in which he announced the mobilization and talked about the "referendums", and told that Russia once again not allowed to qualify for Euro 2024.
