Church affairs: Bartholomew can be anathematized

Based minutes of the last meeting of the Synod of the Moscow Patriarchate, there is a high probability that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew want to anathematize.

Thus, one of the topics discussed by the Synod was Bartholomew's recent visit to Kyiv, which, as it turned out, is a gross violation of the canons.

"Recognize the arrival in Kyiv of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and his entourage without an invitation from the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine and the legitimate hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as a gross violation of the canons, in particular, the 3rd canon of the Sardic Council and the 13th canon Council of Antioch" - stated in the journal of the meeting.

The synod also noted that this visit was purely political in nature and decided to condemn the anti-canonical acts of Bartholomew and hold him responsible for undermining the unity of the Orthodox Church.

"Having supported the schism in Ukraine, Patriarch Bartholomew has lost the confidence of millions of believers. To emphasize that in conditions when the majority of Orthodox believers in the world are not in church communion with him, he no longer has the right to speak on behalf of the entire world Orthodoxy and present himself as its leader", - reported in the protocol.

In 2018, there was already talk that the ROC is quite can anathematize Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in connection with the granting of autocephaly to the Ukrainian Church, then announced this Primate of the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate Filaret.

Recall that at the end of August, the patriarch arrived in Kyiv by personal invitation President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky which he voiced during his last year's visit to Sambul.

Then Bartholomew was met several thousand believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Churchwho do not agree with the displacement of the UOC from the religious life of the country after receiving the OCU Tomos.
