What is not a day, then a scandal! Arakhamia decided to "help" Georgia get rid of the oligarchs: the ruling party answered

A week ago, the head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia accused the Georgian authorities of helping Russia circumvent sanctions. According to the Ukrainian parliamentarian, it was this scheme of avoiding sanctions that was discussed during the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the United States.

“When this information became available to the US, we heard many words from various Georgian officials that this was supposedly not true. But over time, more and more objective information appears that confirms my words, ” - he noted.

Arakhamia also announced that data on transactions abroad and the accounts of many pro-government MPs and ministers from Georgia will soon become more accessible. “And, of course, about the connections of Mr. Ivanishvili, who is very deeply involved in helping a country sponsoring terrorism bypass sanctions. But I must disappoint everyone who decided to make money on the deaths of Ukrainians. It won't. And Mr. Ivanishvili needs to be the first to get ready,” the leader of the Servant of the People warned.

As European Pravda writes with reference to the Georgian media, Arakhamia soon hinted at possible Western sanctions against the co-founder of the Georgian Dream, the oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili.

David Arakhamia said he had “good news” and what he learned from Michael McFaul, American colleague in the expert group on sanctions that the next package deals with sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili and his inner circle. Arakhamia also noted that the EU has indicated deoligarchization among the conditions that Tbilisi must fulfill in order to obtain candidate status, and the country "need help" in this matter.

“Given that Ivanishvili and his team have seized all the branches of power in Georgia, of course, the problem arises of how to get rid of him or minimize his influence. All power structures are controlled by Ivanishvili's representation, political structures, government, key ministries. Therefore, unfortunately, Georgia cannot get out of this trap on its own. International partners will be involved in this matter and will help you quickly and efficiently. Waiting for news, - Arakhamia said on the air of the Georgian TV channel.

In turn, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party Irakli Kobakhidze said that Arakhamia "lies constantly". “Leaving politics in January last year, Bidzina Ivanishvili said that he would leave for his family only $200 million. The remaining amounts, including those placed with Credit Suisse, are entirely intended for the charitable foundation. When some Arakhamia at such a time says that sanctions should be imposed on Ivanishvili, this means that not one, but many charitable projects will be closed ... They are under threat because of some Arakhamia, who created serious problems for his country and now wants to create the same for Georgia”, Kobakhidze reacted.

A deputy from the ruling party Givi Mikanadze accused Arakhamia in connection with the largest opposition party, the United National Movement. “Arakhamia is directly connected with the National Movement and operates within the framework of the agenda of the National Movement, Mikanadze said.

The MP noted that Arakhamia simply should not have time to ask for sanctions against the Georgian billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili during his visit to Washington.

Recall that in June the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili stated that David Arakhamia personally traveled to Washington and Brussels and insisted that Georgia not be granted the status of an EU candidate.

“One of the main initiators who strongly demanded from Europe and the United States that Georgia not receive the status of a candidate [for EU membership] was the representative of the Ukrainian authorities, Mr. Arakhamia. He practically issued an ultimatum to Europe that if Georgia received candidate status, they would be very upset,” Garibashvili said. The Georgian prime minister also lashed out at local opposition politicians, accusing them of following Arakhamia's example in traveling to Europe and asking that Georgia not be granted EU candidate status.

We previously reported that in Hungary they do not agree with the idea of dividing gas equally among the entire “European family” and told that Kuleba demanded to explain why Ukraine cannot be accepted into NATO, but Sweden and Finland can.
