Note that Johnson's decision may be due to his low ratings among the British: according to survey YouGov, 52% of respondents did not support his return to the position, and only 27% perceived such a prospect positively.

And the election of the prime minister is in fact the election of the leader of the conservative party, whose ratings have already faltered after the reforms of Liz Truss, and now it would be unprofitable for the political force to appoint a candidate who is not supported by the majority of the population as the head. In addition, it is likely that if Johnson was appointed, protest social unrest could begin in the country. The most likely candidate for the position was considered Rishi Sunaka, who was initially in the lead in the election race - and he was elected literally immediately after voicing support from the party.

• more than half of the members of the Conservative Party faction.

Opponents criticize Sunak for his lack of charisma, which in the UK is important for high-profile politicians. With a fortune of 730 million pounds in May 2022, he made it to the list of the richest Britons, and his wife's Indian company has a turnover of more than $ 4 billion.
