July 16 employees ГБР prevented the assassination of Deputy Mayor of Cherkasy Yuriy Botnar, whose disappearance was previously announced by the head of the city. The customer has also been arrested.

According to investigators ГБР, as well as the counterintelligence department of the SBU, detained a deputy of the Cherkasy city council, who ordered the murder of Botnar.

It is noted that the reason for the organized murder for money was a personal conflict between the deputy head of Cherkasy and an official.

Judging by the data, the deputy found an intermediary, whom he instructed to appoint a killer and paid him a deposit.

In turn, the employees of the authorities organized an operation and simulated the murder of Yuri Botnar. After paying for the crime, they detained the organizer.

“Now the issue of informing the detained deputy about suspicion of preparing and organizing a deliberate murder and ordering it is being resolved (part 1 of article 14, part 2 of article 15, paragraph 11, paragraph 12, part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and choosing against him a measure of restraint in the form of detention.

In case of proof of guilt, the detainee faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years,” the report said.

Recall that on July 16, the mayor of the city of Cherkasy Anatoly Bondarenko said about the disappearance of his deputy Yuri Botnar.
